About

East Asia Utilities Corporation (EAUC) operates a 50 MW bunker oil-fired power plant within the Mactan Export Processing Zone I in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. AboitizPower fully acquired EAUC in 2017 after over a decade of holding 50 percent shares in the group since April 2007. Prior to the ownership, EAUC was incorporated on February 18, 1993, as a subsidiary of El Paso Philippines Energy Co. Inc. (EPPECI). Together with the Cebu Private Power Corporation (CPPC), EAUC started supplying power through the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) on December 26, 2010.
