About
Philippine Welding Society, Inc. (commonly known as the Phil Welding Society or PWS) is the premier professional, non-profit technical organization dedicated to advancing the science, art, and application of welding engineering and allied joining technologies in the Philippines. Established in 1991, the society serves as the primary national hub for the structural standardization, training, and professional certification of welding engineers, inspectors, and technicians across the country. Headquartered within the Department of Science and Technology - Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC) compound, PWS works in close alignment with both government bodies (such as TESDA and the Department of Labor and Employment) and international bodies like the Asian Welding Federation (AWF). The organization plays a vital role in national infrastructure safety and heavy industrial development by organizing specialized technical webinars, spearheading regular safety audits, and hosting nationwide skills competitions (such as the Metals and Engineering Week events) to elevate local metalworking practices to globally competitive benchmarks.
