About
Philippine Steel Coating Corporation (universally recognized as Philsteel) is a pioneer in the flat steel manufacturing and industrial coating sector in the Philippines. Founded in 1979 as a joint venture with major Australian industrial entities (John Lysaght Australia Ltd. and Australia Mining and Smelting Company), the corporation introduced the country's very first continuous hot-dip galvanizing line and double-coated, double-baked pre-painted steel paintline. This groundbreaking operational infrastructure allowed the firm to supply the local building, construction, and roofing sectors with domestic steel sheets and coils that meet global quality metrics, earning them a rare membership in the ASTM and the National Coil Coaters Association of the USA. Over the decades, its explosive market growth prompted the creation of a unified parent umbrella—Philsteel Holdings Corporation—which today manages Philsteel alongside sister structural steel, roll-forming, and framing giants like Philmetal Products Inc. and Steel Corporation of the Philippines (Steelcorp).
