from culture to an industry, to service industry, Provident was born. it was in June 19, 1974, when men of vision, steeped in principles and tradition of family, carved their dreams into reality. Dr. Wellington Koo, also the founder of Manila Memorial Park and Mr. Abelardo Buenaventura, of Philbanking, organized Provident Memorial Plan. It started with a handful of Employees and Sales Counselors. Its office was located at the Ramon Magsaysay Building in Manila. Mr. Gregorio P. Alcantara, Jr. then working fulltime with Manila Memorial Park(managing the Top Sales Agency), was also invited to join the sales force but it was only in the late 70's that he devoted part of his time to Provident.by a stroke of faith in 1980, Mr. Alcantara was elected as the President of Provident Memorial Plan by its Directors and eventually, also the Chairman of the Board(with the demise of Mr. Abelardo Buenaventura). Provident Memorial Plan, Inc. under the untiring leadership of Mr. Gregorio P. Alcantara, Jr. has since then been giving not only assurances of a stable future to its planholders, but through quality service and warm personal touch, also managed to touch the lives of the people it has served. with these sterling qualities, in addition to unmatched dedication to service, Provident Memorial Plan has evolved from a mere humble player to a strong pillar of the country's life plan industry.
